WEDG¡Aventuras!
As a correspondent for WEDG you will travel to a Central American country to create a travelog.
Each travelog video will contain information, maps and photos of a country to entice visitors to leave their homes and explore a new part of the world.
Your team of 4 reporters will work together to use online encyclopedias and approved websites to gather your facts.

Countries will be assigned randomly by Señorita and are:

Belize
Costa Rica
El Salvador
Guatemala
Honduras
Nicaragua
Panama

Each team will be responsible for:
  1. gathering facts using the graphic organizer (note sheets) from Señorita,
  2. storing images in a shared google drive folder,
  3. writing a script for the travelog,
  4. filming and editing the show
  5. including a music clip in the travelog (music provided by Señorita and Señor May)

Each video must include a bibliography for each photograph, image or music used.

La Bandera/Flag (Worldbook Student)
  • Describe your flag
  • What do the colors and/or symbols mean?

La Moneda/Currency (Currency Used)
  • What is the name of the paper money?
  • What is the name of the coins?
  • What is the exchange rate to the U.S. dollar?
    • To find the exchange rate, type "Currency Exchanges" in a google search box
    • Change the rate from Euro to the country's money

La Historia/History (Worldbook Student)
  • What are important dates for your country? Why?
  • Who are some of the important people?
  • What type of government does the country have today?

Las Comidas/Foods (Central American Foods)
  • Name some fruits, vegetables or popular dishes that are eaten.

Datos Ràpidos/Fast Facts (Worldbook Student)
  • Who is the current president or ruler of the country?
  • What is the largest city?
  • Are other languages spoken besides Spanish?
  • Name other interesting facts that you find.

Timeline:

  • Day 1=review task; learn how to use the resources; take notes
  • Day 2=continue to take notes; write script
  • Day 3=team leader creates a google folder in drive and shares with team; find images that are within creative commons; create bibliography
  • Complete project during computer lab time

Photos
  • Find 1 to 2 photos that best represent your topic
  • Use Chrome
  • Download your image (it will appear on the bottom of your browser screen)
  • Drag your image from downloads into your country's folder in Google Drive
  • Create a slide in your movie crediting the sites for the images
  • Use the following sites to find copyright-friendly images--remember to Ctrl + Click-- Save Image as
